January: 2023: Meals on Wheels of Central Bucks County partnered with Kutz Elementary School’s Cougars for a Cause (C4aC) student service organization to create Blizzard Bags for Meals on Wheels clients. Approximately 20 C4aC students and parents hosted a bag-stuffing workday on Thursday 1/5/2023 to kick off the New Year through outreach to homebound community members. Blizzard Bags contain shelf-stable food provisions for consumption during power outages and inclement weather events that prohibit Meals on Wheels volunteers from delivering hot meals. Each of the 85 completed bags contained a variety of fruit, pasta, granola and pastry bars. Each bag was decorated and packed with care by a Kutz C4aC student and included a hand-signed card with the student’s name and grade. Blizzard Bags will be delivered to Meals on Wheels clients in the month of January.
